“The little thing is that they are the same opposition as always. Personally, I think they never want to govern. Forgive me for saying it this way: They are interested in continuing to say that they are opposition because they turned it into a business, hammering the whole world,” emphasized the Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during a meeting with various sectors of the Apure state.
Cabello indicated that governing involves taking on direct tasks with the People, dealing with emergencies and responding to what is happening in each territory. “Governing means doing what the governor did: getting into the puddle when it flooded. To govern is to be responsible,” he said.
He recalled episodes of violence against vulnerable communities and noted that opposition sectors have demonstrated disregard for human life. “Here (in Apure) there was a hunt for men, they came from Caracas to hunt Indians. They're the same people who burned Orlando Figuera. The life of a human being doesn't matter to them because they think they're superior,” he said.
He emphasized that Venezuela demands equality and that whoever wins an election must assume the responsibility of governing.
In this regard, Cabello quoted the phrase of a leader of the Solutions party: “They are not opposition if they don't oppose the country,” and stated that acting against the nation is behavior that he described as unacceptable.
Cabello reiterated that the country demands responsibility, equality and commitment to peace, and that institutions will continue to work together with the People to ensure stability in every state of the country.
