Cabello to UNES youth: Being a police officer is a very honorable profession!

The sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed to the young people who are training in the spaces of the new headquarters of the National Experimental Security University (UNES) in Maturín, Monagas state, that being a police officer is a profession of honor.

“Being a cop is a very honorable, sacrificing profession, a profession that requires and needs a conviction that a person likes to be a cop; no one can be a forced cop,” Cabello said.

He also stressed that police weapons deserve respect, referring to the fact that police training must be by vocation, “because they are officials who are at the service of others.”

He highlighted that UNES teaches comprehensive training with an “inclusive and high-quality educational model to our students aspiring to be officers”.

He pointed out that for this reason President Nicolás Maduro is making a great effort to equip universities. “You have to take care of it for those who come later and hopefully you will come to teach later (...) there is nothing more beautiful in the world than being a teacher,” he said, while stating that on behalf of the Head of State, the school would also be equipped with an ambulance for the students.

In addition, he added that just as work has begun to provide uniforms to national, state and municipal police officers, the Ministry for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace also began the process for the manufacture of boots and footwear, in addition to the staffing phase.
