The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted that the Justices of the Peace elected last Sunday, December 15, are being proclaimed throughout the national territory.

“We have 30,000 judges across the country. It's a true democracy, it's our model, which will be strengthened, with extraordinary strength to continue empowering Popular Power more, it's not the oligarchy or the economic powers,” Cabello said during a PSUV press conference.

He explained that the proclamation Judges and Justices of the Peace is carried out by the Circular Electoral Commissions, which have five members of the People's Power and who announce who won.

He also recalled that all the activities prior to the election day of the Judges and Justices of the Peace were carried out in Santa Paz. “A beautiful campaign, no one was accused, no one was attacked and no one pointed out, ” he said.

He referred to the participation of the indigenous population in these elections and indicated that of the 5,297 communal circuits that exist, 436 are in their territory and they also elected their Justices of the Peace according to their laws.
