The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, supported the defense made by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, for the territory of Guiana Essequiba before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), in The Hague, the Netherlands.

“We are making a fair claim, a fair claim and our President went there, raised her voice across an entire country in favor of our territory,” Cabello said during the PSUV press conference.

He reaffirmed that the President in Charge was in the Court “defending Venezuela's ownership of our Guiana Essequiba, fighting and fighting”, for this territory that has historically belonged to Venezuelans.

He stressed that Venezuela's appearance before the ICJ has been defending the territory for several days; at the same time, he stressed that our nation “has been historically stripped of a large part of its territory”, recalling that the map of Venezuela some 200 years ago was very different from the one currently known.
