Cacao Apureño wins the silver medal in Paris

Venezuelan cacao shone on the international stage with the exhibition “Riberas del Alto Apure”, which won the silver medal in the competition of the Agency for the Valuation of Agricultural Products (AVPA), held in Paris, France.

This high-quality grain fell into the category of dark chocolates (70% to 85% pure), which was cultivated by the producer Caren Izaguirre on the banks of the Arauca River, in the town of La Victoria, Páez municipality, and masterfully processed by the renowned brand Cakawa, known for its reputation in national chocolate.

This important global award not only rewards more than three centuries of cacao tradition in Alto Apure, but it also confirms the success of strategic alliances with rural producers to promote and expand this export crop.

This cacao is part of the municipal nurseries and the initial planting of 150,000 plants in Apure, with a view to reaching 500,000 in the next three years.
