Caracas and Miranda champions of the National Parakarate and Deaf Olympic Games

With the participation of more than 90 parathletes from all over the country, the 2nd edition of the National Parakarate and Deaf-Olympic Championship 2024, held at the Los Gemelos de Montalbán Gymnastics Center in Caracas, was successfully concluded .
The championship took place from the 27th to the 28th of this month, where Miranda and the Capital District took the lead in the medal table, according to Prensa MinDeporte .
Miranda dominated the parakarate category with a total of 14 medals (7 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze), accompanied by the states Carabobo (13) and Capital District (5) in second and third place respectively.
While in the deaf-Olympic category, the first place went to the Capital District with 20 medals, 8 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze. Second place went to Carabobo with 4 medals and Monagas ranked third with a medal.
During the event, sensei Miguel Obando, president of the Venezuelan Karate Do Federation, pointed out that this championship will serve to choose the call for the first national parakarate team that will participate in the CONDECA Honduras 2025 Central American Championship, in the wheelchair categories, as well as visual and intellectual disabilities.
