The Mayor's Office of Caracas intensifies recovery efforts in the Elite building, located in the San Bernardino parish, a structure that suffered significant damage to its masonry due to the seismic activity recorded on June 24.

Work crews are currently completing the controlled demolition of walls on eight floors in the northern area. This step is essential to begin the construction of new anti-seismic walls around the façade, thus reinforcing the structure of the building, explained the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez through her Instagram account.

After these reinforcement tasks, the work plan contemplates the reconstruction of the internal walls of the entire building, focusing mainly on the masonry of the apartments and the main corridors, areas that suffered the most damage after the seismic event.

“With the neighbors, we talked about the progress made in the reconstruction of their building, which was first evaluated and which is now part of the program of the Venezuela Renace Plan, of which the Mayor's Office of Caracas is the executing entity,” he said.

He also emphasized that currently, they are working on the reconstruction of more than twelve buildings in the city of Caracas. “We are moving forward, as ordered by our president Delcy Rodríguez, to offer peace and peace to families who have been affected by damage to their homes”
