With the objective of spreading and praising Venezuelan traditions that originated in Naiguatá, in the state of La Guaira, the Caracas Metro opened the doors of the Bellas Artes station to exhibit the photographic exhibition “The Burial of the Sardine”.

Through a post on its Instagram account, the Caracas Metro explained that the photographic exhibition shows 22 images of the visual artist Wilinton Barco, through which users and visitors can explore the history of this emblematic artistic representation of Naiguatá.

The work ancestrally evokes good harvest in fishing, agriculture, animal husbandry and abundance in homes in the coastal area.

The opening ceremony was given by the group “A Todo Tren” of the Caracas Metro , who was responsible for setting musical rhythm and flavor.

During the event, they paid homage to the May Cross. “In Venezuela, culture is also on rails!” , said the underground transportation company.

With these initiatives, the Caracas subway reaffirms its commitment to go beyond mass transport, consolidating itself as a living space for citizen encounter, art and national identity.
