The Psychiatric Hospital of Caracas launched a psychological support scheme for people affected by the double earthquake of June 24, through remote consultations coordinated by mental health specialists.
The director of the center, Dr. Nectali Tovar, said that requests are received through Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, in addition to confirming the availability of twenty psychologists to meet requirements throughout the country.
The team has registered 234 pre-hospital visits from various regions and has identified symptoms associated with acute and post-traumatic stress, which keeps the response protocol active, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health.
The process begins with a direct message to official networks or to the number 0416 716 0207, then an hour of care is assigned and the specialist evaluates the case to define the type of intervention needed.
The hospital's emergency services and clinical areas continue to operate to channel situations that require face-to-face care.
