Caracas will host the World Congress in Defense of Mother Earth

From October 8 to 10, 2025, Caracas will host the World Congress in Defense of Mother Earth, said Gabriela Jiménez, the Sectorial Vice President for Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health.

Through a message published on his Telegram channel, Jiménez stressed that the aforementioned congress will be framed in the bicentennial of the Chuquisaca decree, issued by El Libertador, Simón Bolívar.

“The fight against the climate crisis requires every effort to organize, train and act in a concrete way. The peoples of the world and governments sincerely concerned about the effects of climate change must take a step forward,” said the Minister of Science and Technology.

In this regard, he warned about the consequences of the climate crisis and how it affects extreme temperatures, air pollution and the appearance of emerging infections, which complicate the planet's health landscape.

“We recognize the Earth and its components as a living being, with inherent rights such as life, the regeneration of its life cycles, diversity, and life free from pollution,” he said while recalling Commander Chávez's statement 12 years ago: “Let's not change the climate, let's change the system!”
