The mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, assured that Venezuela will not have its independence taken away.
During the commemoration of 214 years of the Venezuelan Declaration of Independence, Meléndez highlighted the courage of the heroes and heroines of the Homeland who today are an example of inspiration in defense of national sovereignty.
“We don't allow ourselves to be blackmailed by anyone,” he said, referring to the North American empire that never complied with lifting sanctions against Pueblo and which is currently attacking with new attacks ahead of the presidential elections of July 28, 2024. “You don't have to believe in the Pitiyankees,” he said.
He emphasized the commitment of Bolivarian thought as a force that lives alive thanks to the fact that Commander Hugo Chávez was responsible for rescuing the anti-imperialist legacy of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.
“We don't bow to anyone, may the empire continue with the lackeys of the Venezuelan opposition. On the other hand, we patriots are many and we will win,” he emphasized.
