CENAL extended the reception of works for the National Literature Biennials until August 31

The National Book Center (CENAL)
extended until August 31 the deadline for receiving works from the National Literature
Biennials 2026, with the purpose of expanding the
participation of Venezuelan and foreign writers residing in the country.
He pointed out that the extension is part of the book promotion and reading
activities incorporated into the Route of Hope program,
aimed at contributing to the emotional recovery of the population after the
earthquakes that occurred on June 24.
In this regard,
Venezuelan and foreign writers residing in the country will have the opportunity to
apply for the 9th José Vicente Abreu National Literature Biennial in the following mentions:
-Short narrative: 12th Orlando Araujo National
Literature Biennial.
-Historical novel: 9th José Vicente Abreu National
Literature Biennial.
-Poetry written by women: V Lydda Franco Farías
National Literature Biennial.
-Essay: VIII
Argimiro Gabaldón National Literature Biennial.
-Children's Literature (Poetry): VI Manuel Felipe Rugeles
National Literature Biennial.
-Theatrical Essay: III National Biennial of
Literature César Rengifo.
-Dramaturgy: III National Biennial of Apacuan Literature.
It is important to remember that the winning works will be published by Monte Ávila Editores Latinoamericana and their authors will receive the prize established in the call. The rules of the competition are available on the official CENAL website.
