Chancellor Gil: José Carlos Mariátegui's thinking is fundamental to the struggles of our peoples

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, stressed that Peru has bequeathed to the world an emblematic figure whose thinking has been fundamental to the social struggles of our Peoples, both in the past and in the present: José Carlos Mariátegui.

This was stated in his account on the social network Telegram, in which he paid tribute to Mariátegui, at his birth.

In his message, Gil emphasized that “his work is distinguished by the integration of the indigenous question into Marxist analysis, stressing that our original peoples were the first revolutionaries”.

He stated that “they are flourishing the struggle for our past, present and future, with the objective of achieving full sovereignty, social justice, the salvation of the planet and the integral transformation of Latin American society.”
