The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, reflected on every letter written by El Libertador Simón Bolívar in the Letter of Jamaica and assured that this document indicates the path to sovereignty of the peoples of Latin America.

After honoring the Father of the Fatherland in Plaza Bolívar and placing a floral offering, he specified that this letter gave rise to the creation of the national political and patriotic force.

“The Jamaican Charter is one of the most profound doctrinal pieces known to our Latin America in the development of Venezuela and the peoples of the South (...) Our Liberator, in 1815, was able to see and draw the future, which is more relevant today,” he said.

In this regard, he stressed that this document calls for the unity of Caribbean and Latin American countries, as in these moments of military deployment on the Caribbean coast, close to Venezuela, with the excuse of linking the country to drug trafficking.
