The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, criticized this Wednesday the statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Spain, José Manuel Albares, in defense of the extreme right Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the Popular Party (PP).
Through his Telegram channel, the Venezuelan diplomat noted that his Spanish counterpart “now seems proud to be on the right of the Popular Party.”
“We don't know if Mr. Albares acts out of fear of a power beyond his government, or out of his own conviction,” said Gil, stating that the Spanish foreign minister, “blackmailed by extreme right extremists, has succeeded in making Spain the preferred haven for drug traffickers, murderers and terrorists who have done a lot of damage in Venezuela.”
Finally, he assured that the Bolivarian Government will assert its sovereignty. “More than 200 years ago we threw the Spanish empire out of our lands, we conquered our independence with blood and fire, rest assured, we will know how to enforce it today and always,” he said.
