The People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation signed a strategic agreement in Beijing to deepen their ties in cinema and higher education. The pact was sealed during President Vladimir Putin's state visit to his counterpart Xi Jinping, where both countries signed nearly 40 intergovernmental cooperation documents.

In the film sector, the agreement establishes a road map for co-producing films, developing joint scripts and facilitating the distribution of feature films in local and international markets. This initiative seeks to expand cultural exchange and ensure mutual support at global film festivals.

At the academic level, the alliance activated the "Russia-China Years of Education" to promote cutting-edge scientific research. The central project is the creation of the Russian-Chinese Institute for Innovative Research, focused on the development of industrial intelligence, fundamental medicine and carbon-neutral technologies.

This soft diplomacy strategy is complemented by parallel agreements on intellectual property and agri-food trade. In this way, Beijing and Moscow consolidate their comprehensive alliance, expanding direct ties between their citizens beyond traditional economic, energy and military agreements.
