The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Mao Ning, confirmed on Tuesday the successful passage of three ships owned and crewed by the Asian giant through the Strait of Hormuz.
During her speech, the spokeswoman highlighted the importance of coordination with stakeholders to ensure fluidity in this maritime route, stressing its role as a fundamental axis for merchandise trade and the stability of the global energy supply.
In the framework of these operations, the Chinese government reiterated the need to preserve peace in the Persian Gulf to ensure the continuity of international routes.
The official emphasized that free movement through these adjacent waters is vital for the world economy, calling for relaxation and the cessation of any action that could compromise the safety of navigation in one of the most strategic commercial arteries on the planet.
The official confirmation matches the records of the MarineTraffic monitoring platform, which identified the crossing of the Cosco Indian Ocean and Arctic Ocean freighters, next to the ship Mac Hope. After completing the maneuver last Monday, the three units were successfully positioned east of Ormuz, continuing with their planned itineraries after receiving the necessary logistical assistance in the area.
