The Federation of Chinese Associations in the state of Anzoátegui provided a shipment of more than 100 tons of humanitarian aid that was sent to Caracas, for subsequent distribution to people affected by the earthquakes.
The governor of the eastern entity, Luis José Marcano, thanked the representatives of the Asian community for collecting non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, canning, hydration and other essential products, collected at the Chinese Colony Center in Dairy.
“On behalf of the Venezuelan people, particularly our sisters and brothers who are in the central region of the country, thank you very much for this extraordinary demonstration,” said Marcano, who stressed that approximately 70% of the products present in this cargo are processed and prepared in the entity, through the economic investment of the Chinese community in the state.
Marcano added that this donation is in addition to the more than 270 tons of medical supplies and products that were sent from Anzoátegui to Caracas, to cover the vital and immediate needs of the victims.
Among the 21 municipalities of the Anzoatigua territory, there are more than 50 collection centers.
