The Chocolate Route will offer free activities
and courses during October in different areas of Caracas, with
days scheduled for this Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd at the
Galerías Ávila shopping center and on the 16th and 17th in the Plaza de la Juventud.
During an interview on Venezolana television,
the president of the Venezuelan Chocolatiers Association, Naudys González,
reported that the activities will include training courses for the production of chocolates.
González highlighted the characteristics of Venezuelan
cacao, which is part of the category of fine aroma cocoas due
to its particular fragrances and flavors.
“Our cacao falls into a
special category: fine aromas, since they have unique fragrances and flavors.
Some taste like nuts, others taste like fruits, even flowers,” he explained.
He also raised the need to establish a centralized training structure on cocoa to expand this knowledge throughout the national territory, noting that this type of initiative is being developed in other countries to strengthen knowledge related to cocoa production.
