Representatives of the AN and former deputies of 2015 present a committee to review candidates for the Supreme Court

The second day of dialogue between the National Assembly and former opposition deputies in 2015 ended in Caracas, in which the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) constituted the commission for the review of credentials of candidates at the table for strengthening democracy, the Judiciary and the Electoral Power.

This dialogue table is led by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, together with former deputy Dinorah Figuera, who presented the following nominees for The Council:

1. Belen Ramírez Landaeta

2. Rogelio Pérez Perdomo

3. Bernardo Pulido Márquez

4. Silio Sánchez

5. Deyanira Nieves

6. Federico Fuenmayor

7. María Bernardoni Govea

Along with the creation of the Council, both delegations agreed to move forward in the next regular session of the National Assembly in appointing the Preliminary Committee of the Judicial Nominations Committee and to publish the schedule of the corresponding procedure.

They also pledged to continue the analysis and review of the legislative instruments necessary for the transformation of the Venezuelan judicial system.

APPROACHES

The purpose of the session is to continue the joint road map for the attention of the issues agreed by both parties on August 12, the date on which the first cycle of talks ended.

It is worth remembering that, during the first meeting, at the first point, the approval of the operating methodology of this initiative and of the technical panels was highlighted.

Also, as a second point, they installed two technical tables. As a third point, the report indicates that five working sessions were held with the technical tables and five plenary sessions between both delegations.
