The Choroní parish of the Girardot de Aragua municipality was the scene of the Caribe Wave 2026 international exercise, where 316 people were evacuated at three strategic points, far exceeding the participation of the previous year and demonstrating the effectiveness of response protocols to coastal emergencies.
The simulation, led by public security and prevention agencies, took place in the spaces of the Liceo Choroní, the school and Playa Grande. In the first point, 157 people were evacuated, in the second 84 and in Playa Grande 75, a figure that represents a significant increase compared to the 54 evacuated in the same area during the previous edition, details a local press release.
In addition, the day also included the coordinated participation of the Municipal Police, Aragua State Police, Bolivarian National Police, CMDNNA, Prefecture, Red Cross, National Guard, Virtual Libraries, Mintur and the team of the self-government room, as well as the voluntary rescue groups SCOA and Guardians of Henri Pittier. Popular power was actively integrated through street and community leaders, who worked together with local political teams to ensure order and the effectiveness of the protocols.
Jesús Lugo, director of Girardot Civil Protection, expressed his satisfaction with the results obtained and highlighted the support received from regional and municipal authorities to carry out this exercise that strengthens preventive culture in the coastal parish.
