CICPC has seized more than 3 tons of drugs so far in 2025

The Drug Investigations Directorate of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) has seized more than three tons of drugs over the course of 2025, said the head of this unit, C/G Pablo Castro.
“3,823 kilograms of different drugs have been seized during the execution of various operations, as well as a thousand people arrested and 379 checks of chemical substances,” Castro announced in statements replicated in a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP).
In this regard, the Commissioner General stressed that the largest seizure took place “on July 27 and 28 in the Pico de Zamuro sector, in Falcón state, where three tons were held, followed by the seizure of 500 kilograms of marijuana in the town of Nirgua, Yaracuy state; continuing this investigation, 48 pots of marijuana were seized in a fifth in the Cumbres de Curumo sector in Caracas and 26 cocaine pans off the coast of the state of Aragua, in the town of Choroní,” he said.
Regarding the dismantling of Structured Organized Crime Groups (GEDO), by the Directorate of Drug Investigations, it reported that “with the dismantling of the Los Lancheros de Oriente gang, in Nirgua Yaracuy state and in Los Teques the Portu gang, the latter where 30 pots of marijuana were seized last May.”
In this regard, Castro stressed the importance of the merger of this division with other security bodies, which has led to great achievements in the frontal fight against drugs in the national territory, in a perfect fusion of popular, military and police.
