Claudia Sheinbaum received this Thursday the proof of majority, which formally accredits her as the winner of the presidential elections on June 2, a document that was given to her by the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Mexican Federation (TEPJF).

After receiving the credential, Sheinbaum said that the people of Mexico showed their civic conscience, “their republican sense, but also the collective recognition of their strength and history, expressed clearly and forcefully on election day,” he said.

The elected president stressed that she did not assume her victory as an “individual” issue but as an ancient effort of women. “ I don't arrive alone, we all arrived,” she said, referring to the fact that she became the first woman to become head of state in her country.

He indicated that people voted to “follow an honest government, with results, with love for the country and with love” for Mexicans and Mexican women. “In other words, most citizens do not want governments to return to the service of a few, it is the mandate of the people of Mexico and it is up to us to continue to make it a reality,” he said.

According to the final calculation published by the National Electoral Institute (INE), Sheinbaum received 35.9 million votes, while Xóchitl Gálvez, the standard-bearer of a conservative coalition, obtained 16.5 million votes.
