CNAC announces the first 28 projects selected for the Stimulus and Promotion Program

The National Autonomous Center for Cinematography (CNAC) announced the 22 projects in the screenplay development modality and the six selected in script rewriting from its Program for the Encouragement and Promotion of Cinematographic Production, which will benefit from funds from this institution.

According to information from the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, the first selected in the Screenplay Development category are: “Did you know that Avila doesn't exist?” by Emilio Quintero, “La Salvaje Cota Mil” by Leonardo Gimón, “Ashes to the East” by Carlos Chirivella, “Echoes” by Mohamed Hussain, “Only 90 Feet Away” by Anthony Moncada, “The Suitcase” by Irma Romero, “A Minefield” by Fabricio Contreras, “Yellow, Blue and Red” by Hugo Gerdel Paredes, “Take Away the Desire to Die” by Omar Arteaga, “The Most Hidden Mountains” by Freddy José Siso, “Puruna's Dream” by Rosa Elena Oto,, a power from another world” by Álvaro Cáceres, “The Narrator” by Carlos Novella, “The Ship” by Eduardo Ariza, “Polilla” by Gabriel Rodríguez, “Sputnik (a space road movie)” by Cedismundo Quintero, “Divas we are all” by Laura Goldberg, “Forgiveness” by Carlos Malavé, “Being” by Emil Guevara, “Ruptures” by Elis Blanco Jansen, “The Last Word” by Arantxa Valecillos, as well as “Love and Sex in Venezuela” by Sergio Marcano.

While in the script rewriting modality, the works “In Peace” by Leonel González, “Puntín” by Miguel Alfonzo, “Caribes” by Christian Márquez, “The Angel of a Thousand Colors” by Daniel Peñaloza, “The Technicolor” by Alexis Márquez and “Evil Eye” by Hugo Balseiro were selected.

The president of the CNAC, Carlos Azpúrua, highlighted the massive participation in the call, as a sign of the success achieved by the stimulus and promotion program “which has made it possible to renew the confidence of the country's film sector”.

In the coming weeks, new results are expected for the different categories and will be announced through the @cnac_venezuela social media accounts.
