The National Autonomous Cinematography Center (CNAC) installed the Promoting Commission responsible for drafting the National Cinematography Plan 2026-2031, an initiative aimed at defining strategies for the development and strengthening of the Venezuelan audiovisual sector over the coming years.

In this regard, the president of the CNAC, Román Chamorro, stressed that the commission is composed of representatives of the organization's Executive Committee and renowned national film professionals, including Iván Zambrano, Efterpi Charalambidis, José Antonio Varela and Miguel Guedez.

He also indicated that the coordination will be carried out by Evelyn Márquez, strategic general manager of the CNAC, together with legal consultant María Alejandra Sierra.

Chamorro noted that the new plan seeks to respond to the needs and challenges currently faced by the film industry, through a construction process based on consensus and the participation of different actors in the sector.

In addition, he indicated that the initiative is the result of an agenda of meetings held with filmmakers, guilds and organizations linked to the audiovisual field.

Representatives of associations such as the National Association of Cinematographic Authors (ANAC), the Venezuelan Chamber of Feature Film Producers (CAVEPROL) and the Association of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Producers (AVEPCA) participate in the drafting of the document, as well as distributors, exhibitors and spokespersons from regions such as Aragua, Carabobo, Nueva Esparta and Mérida.

The CNAC reported that the plan will be guided by principles such as the culture of encounter, unity within diversity and the strengthening of the sector as an economic engine, with the purpose of boosting the recovery and growth of Venezuelan cinematography.
