The National Electoral Council (CNE) presented this Thursday, April 25, the Audit Plan for the Presidential Elections 2024, which includes up to 16 evaluations before, during and after the event, with the participation of the political organizations that registered candidates in the race.
In a statement to the media, the vice-president of the CNE, Carlos Quintero, announced that the Electoral Power will request, this time, that representatives of political parties be technicians or experts in the area of technology and that they participate in the various tasks, in order to guarantee the integrity and security of the automated voting system.
“You have the chain of trust, you have the role of advising your political organizations,” said Quintero, who recalled that audits are acts verifiable by all.
“The automated system is secure, reliable and transparent,” he said.
He explained that the purpose of taking on these tasks, although it is a technical issue, in the end becomes another validation of Venezuela's automated system of the transparency and security of the people's vote.
“So that they can then have the ability to bring to their campaign commanders the reality of what is happening,” he said.
He also noted that all political organizations verify and sign electronically the software and all the elements linked to this Audit Plan.
Quintero said that in addition, this plan will have expert professors from different universities in the country, so that they can verify all the components that make up the voting system.
