CNE sets presidential election date for July 28

This Tuesday, March 5, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, announced that the presidential elections will be held on July 28, 2024.

“Today we approved a schedule that meets all the requirements to hold the 2024 presidential elections: 1) 2024 election on July 28; 2) call this March 5; 3) Electoral Registration Day from March 18 to April 16; 4) Registration Court April 16; 5) application submission from March 21 to 25; 6) selection of subordinate bodies March 20; 7) election campaign from July 4 to 25,” Amoroso explained.

He highlighted that this date was established after debating and studying all the proposals contained in the "Caracas Agreement “, in which 97% of the country's political parties signed and participated, as well as other economic and social sectors that live in the country.

The CNE Board of Directors, on Monday, unanimously approved declaring the CNE in permanent session to study the proposals. We report that the Junta has the direction and control of the acts of the elections,” he said.

He also reaffirmed that the established electoral schedule is part of the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic.

In the same way, he extended his congratulations to the people of Venezuela and urged them to participate in this new electoral holiday.
