Coal production is boosted in Táchira with small mining

Work will be done on a training, financing and support plan to find new markets

The Minister of Popular Power for Ecological Mining Development, Héctor Silva, held a meeting with small-scale coal mining brigade members in the Lobatera municipality of the state of Táchira as part of the Concrete Agenda of Action to diversify, deconcentrate and transform the national economy; in addition to promoting small, medium and large mining.

“We are making a great front with all the institutions that have to do with mining, to work together, together with organized Popular Power, to develop the ecological mining that President Nicolás Maduro is asking of us, the one that thinks about the future and the environment,” said the also head of the fourth productive engine.

He also explained that work will be done on a training, financing and support plan to find new markets for the product.

For his part, the president of the Venezuelan Mining Corporation (CVM), G/D Rodolfo Marcos Torres, recognized the efforts and commitment of miners who have extracted coal in recent decades to support their families.

The mayor of the town, Natalia Chacón, described the activity as a great opportunity for growth, urging that work be done at all levels of government, promoting the involvement of all the actors involved in the process.

Finally, as part of the commitment to the nation's productive apparatus, the multidisciplinary team of the Ministry of Ecological Mining Development toured the Los Parra coal mine to verify its operation and inspect the productive work carried out there.
