Collection centers set up in Caracas and several regions after earthquakes

Through its Instagram account, Civil Protection (PC) of the Government of Caracas reported that various public, religious and voluntary institutions have activated a network of collection centers nationwide, following the emergency generated by the earthquakes.

He also specified that the main objective is to collect essential supplies to provide immediate care to affected families, with special emphasis on Greater Caracas and coastal areas.

He pointed out that in Caracas some of the enabled points are:

  • Chacao Municipality: Social Development Headquarters, located on Los Angeles Street (next to the Sambil Chacao Shopping Center).
  • Central University of Venezuela: Building of the Federation of University Centers (FCU-UCV), located in the Plaza del Rectorado.
  • Libertador Municipality (West): La Paz Church, in Montalbán I.
  • Libertador Municipality (Center-North): San Bernardino de Siena Church, in the San Bernardino parish.
  • Government House of Caracas (in front of Plaza Bolívar)
  • Civil Protection of the Government of Caracas on Bolívar Avenue.
  • Caracas Fire Stations

In addition, they pointed out that the contributions that citizens can make in these spaces focus on hydration, non-perishable foods, current medications, first aid kits, sheets, clothing, personal hygiene items, and others.

They also indicated that in several states such as Monagas, Carabobo, Lara or others, spaces have been activated to collect supplies to help affected people in the central region of the country.
