Colombia: President Petro announces capture of the mastermind behind the murder of Villavicencio

This Wednesday, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, announced the capture in Mexico of Ángel Esteban Aguilar Morales, alias “Lobo Menor”, one of the world's greatest murderers and the mastermind behind the assassination of Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio.

The arrest was the result of follow-up by the Colombian police in Medellín and Itaguí, and a subsequent coordinated operation with Mexican authorities.

The capture of “Little Wolf”, identified as the top leader of the Organized Armed Group “Los Lobos” in Ecuador, took place in the Polanco sector of Mexico City, as part of the “Jericó” operation.

Aguilar is one of the most wanted criminals in Ecuador, with alleged links to aliases “Iván Mordisco” and Mexican cartels. In a quick move, he was transferred to Colombia after his arrest.
