Colombia: President Petro promotes popular consultation on labor reform

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, began a campaign on social networks to invite the population to join the mass rallies of May 1, in support of the holding of the popular consultation on labor reform.

“To the Consultation this May 1st,” wrote the president in a message on his account on the social network X, and he urged the Colombian people “to become a crowd aware that they have in their hands the future, the present, that they can hold power in their hands.”

In context, the Colombian president reported that “in all public squares in the country, this May 1, millions of people are supporting the questions of labor reform so that the senate approves the popular consultation. The sword of Bolivar in the hands of the people.”
