Colombian authorities value resumption of binational development relations with Venezuela

This Thursday, from Caracas, Venezuela and Colombia reached an important signing of agreements to create zones of peace, union and binational development, in a meeting that was led by the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez.

“We must transform our territory through industry, clothing, the energy sector (...) we hope that this is the consolidation of territory that has resulted in the development of the opening of the trade border between Venezuela and Colombia,” said Diana Morales Rojas, the New Granada Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

In this regard, he affirmed that trade between the two nations has grown significantly “we can see in them precisely the influx of exchange and the productive growth of the two borders and we know that through the agreement we are signing it will be consolidated”.

For his part, Alfredo Saade Vergel, head of the Cabinet of the Colombian presidency, assured that this is the beginning of a political-social transformation “the order of President Gustavo Petro is the need to communicate to Venezuela and Colombia”.

“This is a dream that comes true with the binational transformation for economic transformation that businessmen will allow to move forward with two nations that are sisters who tried to separate and today they are reunited, this is a peace concert where we can not only talk about two Peoples the love of God,” he said.

The Colombian chief of staff assured that they are “following orders from the presidents (Gustavo) Petro and (Nicolás) Maduro, it was necessary to form a large document that would allow us to make progress on energy production and food issues, everything necessary for these two countries to be able to carry out, we are happy. We are very happy with President Nicolás Maduro, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and all of you who have opened doors for us to move forward.

He also stressed that through mafias, drug trafficking and corrupt governments, they prevented Venezuela and Colombia from reaching an alliance.
