This Thursday, July 24, the General Commander of the Bolivarian Navy, Ashraf Suleiman Gutiérrez, reaffirmed that today the men and women of this component of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are loyal and committed to the historical legacy of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

“After 202 years of the Naval Battle of the Lake, the Bolivarian Navy continues to preserve independence and sovereignty in our river and lake areas and in our blue Venezuela,” he said during the central event on the occasion of the 242nd Anniversary of the Birth of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, 202th Anniversary of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo and Day of the Bolivarian Navy.

He also reaffirmed that the Navy remains in permanent defense of our Atlantic façade, “where the government of Guyana, allied with transnationals, intends to deprive us of our territory and jurisdictional waters, but make no mistake because we are the same as in 1823, with a stronger and more consolidated Navy, we remind them that the right path is the Geneva Agreement, there is no other”.

He emphasized that, despite the economic war and the attacks of imperialism, President Nicolás Maduro is working hard for the preservation, maintenance and modernization of our system.

“We have achieved high levels of operational readiness, increased the well-being of our staff and efficient levels of training, we do not rest on the mission of innovating, creating, producing and improving our maintenance processes through reverse engineering, tropical spare parts and manufacturing of parts and parts,” he said.

He stressed that while world leaders generate conflicts, death and destruction, Venezuela promotes peace and deepens perfect democracy through Popular Power, and that it has a FANB to maintain it.

“The FANB is perfectly aligned with the country's project, under the legacy of Bolivarian and Chavista thinking, carrying out all our activities within the framework of the six strategic lines for the FANB. The Bolivarian Navy is following the waters of the Liberation Army, on a firm path to the 7 transformations, machines ahead of everything for the consolidation of the Ayacucho Plan 2025 - 2031 and in a permanent combat role to face all current and future threats with honor and loyalty,” he said.
