The Standing Committee on People's Power and Communication, of the National Assembly (AN), agreed this Wednesday to accompany the National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL) in reviewing sign language transmissions on television, as reported by the second vice-president of the parliamentary body, Deputy María Carolina Chavez.

From the Francisco de Miranda room, in the José María Vargas building, in Caracas, the parliamentarian explained that the idea is to unify criteria, in terms of sign language, to correctly communicate with this system what is being transmitted on television stations.

Deputy Chávez announced that a right to speak at the meeting was given to the Manager of Social Responsibility and Citizen Participation of CONATEL, Erick Rodríguez, in order to learn about the problem on the part of the supervisory body.

Agreements

On the other hand, the approval of three proposed agreements was reported to be evaluated by the board of directors of the National Assembly.

One would be the agreement on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Battle of the Bridges that took place on the border between Colombia and Venezuela on February 23, 2019, which aimed to invade Venezuelan territory with mercenaries, and which, thanks to the civic-military union, the incursion led by the United States was prevented.

In addition, the deputy announced that a resolution will be presented, referring to the 35 years since the events of February 27, 1989, known as El Caracazo, which left looting and fatalities, throughout the country. He also referred to an agreement on the tenth anniversary of the Neighborhood Youth Mission, decreed in 2014 by President Hugo Chávez.
