The former player of the Major Leagues and the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), Bob Kelly Abreu, bought the Mineros de Guayana team and the team is expected to return to action soon.
After days of negotiations, an agreement was reached that allowed Abreu to keep the historic complex of Venezuela.
The information was confirmed by the Governor of the state of Bolivar, Ángel Marcano, through a video posted on the social network Instagram. “I am meeting here with Bob Abreu's team, who has just acquired Mineros de Guayan, an iconic team of the Bolivar state, our heritage and which will be based in Cachamay,” he said.
“We are working hard for the full recovery of the Cachamay Total Entertainment Center and that great team that has given us great satisfaction. We love our miners!” , he said.
It should be noted that Juan Fariña, Bob Abreu's personal assistant, told various media outlets a few days ago that negotiations were on the right track to take place with the Mineros club.
“We are talking about 100% of the shares (...). A new restoration of the equipment is coming because we want to give that joy to the fans of Mineros de Guayana who also deserve it,” said Fariña.
Mineros de Guyana could soon return to action, after descending to the second division in 2023 and then disappearing as a result of debts.
