Congresswoman Colmenares: For the first time in history, young people decide what they want for their community

From the state of Táchira, the General Secretary of Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV) and member of the National Assembly, Grecia Colmenares, described the electoral process of this July 27 as historic, because in addition to the election of mayors and councilors, youth projects will also be elected.

“For the first time in the entire history of Venezuela, young people are being asked what they want to solve, to do in their community. It's not just dreaming, but executing projects,” said Colmenares.

He recalled that months ago Venezuelan youth began a process of organization in communities. “We made our dream maps , we imagined our community in the short, medium and long term and today we are realizing it by voting for more than 37,000 projects across the country, which are anchored in the 7 transformations, from productive, economic, social, sports, science and technology,” he added.

“The National Popular Youth Consultation empowers new generations and promotes communal power in the nation. We are very happy because today we are completing a new phase for Venezuelan youth,” said the Deputy.

Colmenares also highlighted the speed of the electoral process and urged all the Venezuelan people to go out and vote.
