The president of the Venezuelan Confederation of Industrialists (Conindustria), Luigi Pisella, estimated that by 2025 companies can reach 50% in the use of installed capacity.
In an interview with the program “Al Aire”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he said that “we have demonstrated that despite all the drawbacks that exist, Venezuelan products have positioned themselves and evidence that we can develop our industrial park”.
In this regard, he stressed that domestic industry must be encouraged, “today we have demonstrated that we can supply the domestic market and we can work to export. Production is going to happen spontaneously, because as more is produced, it increases efficiently and this increases income for both companies and their workers.”
On the other hand, Pisella argued that currently in Venezuela, non-oil investments are being made to diversify the national economy, so that every industry in the country can be developed.
“Our business sector, since 2021, has grown progressively and one of the sectors that has increased the most is the food sector, as well as that of personal care products, but in the same way there is a lag in two main sectors such as textiles, clothing and footwear, and the steel and metal processing industry,” he added.
He also added that another sector that is fundamental is that of entrepreneurs, because they are part of the industry, although they are small companies, in the future they will move to a large scale and increase their production.
“Entrepreneurs are part of our industry and are essential for the development and revival of the economy,” he said.
Regarding national taxes, he said that the collection of 12 billion dollars “is very positive because this is redirected to Venezuelan society, to adapt hospitals, security, schools and other sectors,” he said.
