The fighting forces of the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) reaffirmed this Friday, August 29, their commitment to territorial defense, by joining the Great Day of Enlistment of the Bolivarian National Militia, which will take place until this Saturday, August 30, in the country.

From Plaza Bolívar in Chacao, in Miranda state, the fighting forces express: “I join the Tricolor”, following the call of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in the face of external threats against the peace and sovereignty of Venezuela, the Ministry of Popular Power for Electric Energy (MPPEE) reported on its website.

The representative of the Productive Councils of Workers (CPTT) of CORPOELEC in the Altos Mirandinos, Jacinto Montilla, stated that enlisting is a national commitment.

“I am enlisting because there is a need for our country to become stronger, to move forward. I enlist and support our commander and president Nicolás Maduro, because he is the helm that holds the reins of our country,” he said.

For her part, María Vernieri, head of the Training Coordination Division of CORPOELEC and a member of the fighting forces, said that enlisting “is a historic commitment that Venezuelans have. Today, the Homeland is threatened by imperialism, and that is why we are willing to defend our Homeland for life, for the family. Venezuela is respected.”

Since Saturday, August 23, when the enlistment day began, MPPEE and CORPOELEC workers have been actively participating, with the defense of the National Electricity System (SEN) and the national territory as their main motivation.

In the enlistment process, which takes place in more than 900 points established in Bolivar squares and emblematic barracks in the country, the fighting bodies confirm their patriotic vocation to preserve peace in times of national defense.
