26 member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), including Canada, the United Kingdom and France, have demanded an immediate end to the conflict in Gaza and have condemned the death of civilians trying to access humanitarian aid.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers urged the Israeli government to allow unrestricted access to supplies and to ensure the operations of international organizations such as the United Nations and non-governmental organizations.
The heads of diplomacy of each country condemned the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the construction projects in the E1 zone, since these actions divide the Palestinian territories and prevent a two-state solution.
The signatory countries expressed their willingness to promote new initiatives to facilitate the definitive cessation of hostilities and promote a shared security environment between Palestinians, Israelis and other regional actors.
