In Caracas, the Forum “Crafts for Peace, Sovereignty and for the Defense of Cultural Identity” was held, a space for reflection on the value of traditional crafts and popular art in building peace and cultural resistance.

The activity brought together specialists and authorities who analyzed how artisanal production strengthens national sovereignty and contributes to preserving the identity of peoples.

The meeting emphasized the importance of recognizing craftsmanship as an engine of dignity and self-determination.

Among the speakers were Héctor Rodríguez, Erick Gutiérrez, María de los Ángeles Peña, Agustín Cona and Zobeida de García, who presented the relevance of popular knowledge in the defense of national values and in the consolidation of culture as a tool for social cohesion.

The forum also addressed the need to promote policies that support creators and promote the transmission of knowledge to new generations, so the national government guarantees the continuity of practices that are part of the national heritage

The day concluded with the call to strengthen the articulation between institutions, communities and cultures, with the objective of consolidating craftsmanship as a strategic axis for peace, sovereignty and Venezuelan cultural identity.
