This Tuesday, the
photographic and newspaper exhibition “The First Embrace” was inaugurated, together with the presentation of the
book “Hope is on the Street”, at the Mountain Barracks 4F, in
Caracas, in homage to the historic first meeting between Commanders Hugo
Chávez Frías and Fidel Castro Ruz, 30 years ago.
During the meeting, the vice-president of
the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Foundation, Ana Sofía Cabeza, announced that this
activity is part of the tribute to both commanders of Cuba and Venezuela,
as well as various floral and cultural offerings.
“What followed the course of the
history of Our America, today we opened the doors of a small
but emotional room, which is called the First Embrace and which is dedicated to the
relationship and to supportive love, between Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, which began with
that embrace 30 years ago,” he said.
The exhibition that shows Commander
Chávez on his trip to Havana for the first time in the early
1990s of the 20th century, and that first encounter, that first embrace with Fidel
Castro, can be visited from this Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00am
to 4:30pm.
With regard to digital publication, Cabeza
indicated that it is a selection of different written sources, headlines,
magazines, opinion articles, press articles and news about everything that happened in
1994, after Chávez's release from Yare prison, and once he
is in Libertad, he begins a journey that culminates that year with a visit to Cuba.
“And we include that in this newspaper selection
, which you will also find in the room,” he added.
