During the 7th Meeting of Ministers, Ministers and Senior Tourism Authorities of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), the Cuban Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, emphasized the importance of tourism as an engine of sustainable development and a key tool for strengthening cooperation between member nations.

In his speech, García Granda highlighted the strength and resilience of the Cuban people, who have been able to overcome historic challenges thanks to the supportive support of their brothers in ALBA-TCP. He also emphasized the need to move forward together in the formulation of strategies that make tourism a fundamental pillar for the sustainable development of the region.

“The topic of multidestination has been a long-cherished desire, and a dream of our historic leader, Fidel Castro, who addressed this idea in different settings during the 90s. Today, more than ever, we must work together to realize this vision and consolidate a tourism model that benefits our nations,” said the minister.

The meeting brought together representatives of the member countries of ALBA-TCP, who reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening tourism cooperation with a view to boosting economic and social growth in the region.
