The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, expressed his deep gratitude to the activists who “extend their hands and hearts” to the island. The president highlighted the arrival in Havana of about thirty people from eleven nations, who joined this international support initiative from Mexico.

Díaz-Canel highlighted the symbolic value of the boat, named Granma 2.0. This name pays tribute to the original yacht that in 1956 transported the 82 expeditionaries of the 26th of July Movement from Mexican shores to begin the final phase of the Revolution.

For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero added to the recognition by sending a fraternal embrace to the brigade members.

Marrero said that these expressions of solidarity reaffirm that Cuba feels accompanied on its journey, valuing the support of those who today embrace the country's cause.

Finally, the head of government stressed that the nation deeply values this gesture of the convoy, describing it as an act of justice for a country that has historically shared its best with the world. The arrival of Granma 2.0 marks a new chapter of brotherhood between peoples.
