With a vibrant exhibition presented in digital format, the Cultural Mission and the National Dance Company (CND) paid homage to Joropo, following its recent and momentous declaration as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the presentation showed the various variants of the Venezuelan joropo, demonstrating that this traditional manifestation is the living pulse of our land.
The presentation was given by the Traditional Cast and Musicians of the National Dance Company, who with their art and passion embodied the essence of each regional rhythm.
Incalculable value was added to the comments and knowledge of master cultivators of this event, true guardians of tradition, such as: Nelson Contreras, Óscar Lista, Alfredo Gutiérrez and Juan Montoya.
The selected repertoire was a dance journey through the national geography, which allowed the public to appreciate the stylistic richness of this dance that unites us. It was possible to enjoy the vigorous Joropo Guaribero, the elegant Joropo Larense, the joy of Joropo Oriental, the strength of Joropo Guayanés and the cadence of Joropo Tuyero, closing with Joropo Llanero.
This activity is clear evidence of the institutional synergy that seeks to enhance the Venezuelan cultural legacy.
