The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported this Thursday that at least nine people lost their lives and 23 others were injured after a series of bombings carried out by Israeli forces in the southern region of the country.
The official report details that the offensive affected residential areas, causing an immediate deployment of emergency teams to transfer those affected to the nearest healthcare centers under a climate of high tension on the border.
Among the fatalities confirmed by health authorities are two children and five women, reflecting the direct impact of hostilities on the civilian population in recent hours.
In addition, the number of injured shows worrying figures, including eight minors and seven women, many of whom are in critical condition, according to preliminary medical reports issued from conflict zones.
This recent episode of violence adds to an alarming record of casualties in Lebanese territory in recent months due to the intensification of military operations.
According to data consolidated by the Ministry of Health, the massive attacks have left almost 2,300 dead and more than 7,500 injured in the period between March 2 and April 17, evidencing a humanitarian crisis that continues to expand without signs of an immediate truce.
The international community is watching with caution the development of these events as relief organizations attempt to maintain operations in the most vulnerable provinces of southern Lebanon.
Civilian infrastructure has suffered significant damage over the course of these weeks, making it difficult to rescue and care for a population facing forced displacement and a drastic reduction in access to essential basic services.
