Dengue cases increase by more than 400% in the capital of Brazil

During a press conference, the Government of the Federal District of Brazil reported that the capital of the South American country (Brasilia) increased cases of dengue fever by more than 400% in the first days of 2024, compared to January of last year.
“7,614 probable cases were reported between December 31, 2023 and January 13, 2024; compared to the same period last year, when there were 1,370 cases, there was an increase of 435%,” the Brazilian Government explained.
In addition, he reported that there are only 2 deaths from the disease, while 12 cases of death are under analysis to determine if it is dengue, Zika or chinkunguya.
According to health agencies, the Amazon Giant is expected to have a record number of cases in 2024, Sputnik reported.
Faced with the health
situation, the authorities announced days of care in the
most vulnerable areas, while noting that soon Brazil
will become the first country to vaccinate against this disease in the public health system.
