The Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Distribution, José Gregorio Briceño, reported that a goal of 500 tons of fish was set for this, a figure that represents an increase of 15% compared to the same period of the previous year.

“This 15% increase translates into a goal of 500 tons of fish for this Holy Week, the result of the joint work of the fishing sector and the Bolivarian Government,” he said during the Coffee in the Morning Program.

Briceño explained that the operation is part of the Venezuela Eat Fish Plan, which involves fishermen, traders, processors, private goats and the Sardine Caravan.

He indicated that the plan operates at 93 points throughout the national territory “from spaces installed by fishermen to organized structures that are replicated according to the level of local organization,” he said.

Briceño reiterated that the population will have supplies throughout the day.
“We are going to continue to guarantee fish, a protein with high nutritional value, so that families are available during these days,” he said.
