Deputy Minister Palencia: Authorities are preparing for security deployment during Holy Week 2026

The Deputy Minister of Prevention and Public Safety, Endes Palencia, reported that citizen security authorities have started preparatory meetings for the “Safe Holy Week 2026" device, whose main axis will be religious temples, without neglecting tourist sites and roads.

He stressed that this initial planning complies with the instructions of the sectoral vice-president of Policy, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.

He also stressed that the objective of these strategic lines is to guarantee peace and healthy recreation for citizens during the next holiday of Major Week.

In a publication on its Instagram account, the Ministry of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP), Palencia explained that unlike previous devices focused mainly on recreational and sports activities, this edition reinforces attention to the religious variable, recognizing the deep faith of the Venezuelan people.

In this regard, he specified that “256 high-affluence temples have been identified nationwide for special surveillance with total coverage where the device will cover the 3,614 Quadrants of Peace in existing religious temples in the country.”

“We are moving towards a true migration from the National State, where the security official is not an isolated entity, but a present actor that guarantees participatory and direct democracy together with the People,” said the Deputy Minister.

In the same way, he stressed that they have received some requests for support, “a recent case is the organization of the Way of the Cross in the state of Mérida, where the authorities have already coordinated with the Secretariat of Security and the National Police to ensure the accompaniment of devotees during the tour.”

Palencia indicated that the axis of the operation will maintain its integral structure, serving the following recreational spaces: beaches, rivers, spas and national parks. As well as road prevention in the control of trunk roads and highways for the safe return of seasonal workers.
