The Pipe Cleaning and Desolving Plan formally began in the Puerto Escondido sector of the Torunos parish, in the state of Barinas, with the deployment of crews and heavy machinery. This preventive action was immediately activated in the face of the current rainy season to mitigate flood risks. The work will be progressively extended to the Ramón Ignacio Méndez parish, Alto Barinas and the Las Colinas sector to optimize the entire drainage network of the llanera entity.

The head of the Executive Secretariat for Infrastructure and Territorial Planning (SIOT), Dayan Guedez, emphasized Governor Adán Chávez's guidelines to focus work on areas of greatest historical vulnerability.

The goal set by the regional executive is to achieve the sanitation of approximately 60 kilometers of public channels to ensure the proper flow of rainwater. This preventive engineering effort represents a direct benefit for an estimated population of between 80,000 and 100,000 inhabitants of the central area and adjacent areas.
