Devotees delivered hundreds of orchids to the Nazarene of São Paulo in Caracas

In a display of faith that is renewed every year, hundreds of devotees came to the Basilica of Saint Teresa, with the purpose of delivering the traditional orchids that will adorn the sacred image of the Nazarene of Saint Paul.

During the day, a crowd was observed approaching the vicinity of the temple with orchids and other floral offerings for the “Lemon Tree of the Lord”, an image that for more than two centuries has been the epicenter of Caracas devotion during Holy Week, a Venezuelan television report.

According to the church schedule, it is expected that this Tuesday, after being carefully adorned with the flowers given by the People, the Nazarene will be transferred to the High Altar.

This event sets the stage for Holy Wednesday, when the twelve masses scheduled to commemorate the journey of Jesus with the cross in tow will be celebrated.
